This page features Central Kentucky and Ohio cars shows.

The "Parkette Drive In" has been a Lexington landmark since 1951.  Every Friday night it drew a large gathering of old cars, street rods, muscle cars, and motorcycles for friendship, great burgers (try the Poor Boy), chicken boxes, and root beer floats.

Sadly, it was not open for business on January 13th.  The sign on the door says it is only temporary.  Owner Tom Parker could not be reached for comment.  Richard Wilkins, who owned the business from 1984 to 1995, said it was "quite possible" he might reopen the restaurant.

UPDATE:  The Parkette has reopened!  After a remodeling of the dining room/kitchen new owners have reopened this great Lexington establishment in May.  The food is even better than before and the Friday night cruises are back!
